The city of Dambulla is located 148 km northeast of Colombo in the central province of Sri Lanka. It is home to an ancient cave temple, also known as the Golden Rock Temple. About 25 km from Dambulla is Sigiriya, where the “Lion Rock” is located. This is a 220-meter-high rock, on the top of which an old king built his palace.
